Counseling for Faculty and Staff (CFS) is a division of the Institute for Health and Human Services at Appalachian State University. We offer free, confidential counseling, consultations, and workshops and training seminars to faculty, staff, and members of their families who have had difficulty solving a problem in their personal or professional lives. We also provide several options and resources for all faculty and staff members, including managers and supervisors, program directors, and department chairs.
Do I have a problem?
Consultation is free and a great first step of the counseling process. You can call to set up a consultation with a counselor if you feel that you may have a problem. Some people call us because a friend, partner, or colleague suggested they call, and others call because they have tried to resolve an issue on their own without success. Still others may be unsure that they have a problem, but they call anyway to get the chance to simply talk with a counselor.
