CFS Staff
The counseling staff at CFS is highly qualified to serve you as counselors or in making an assessment or referral. Every member of the counseling staff is licensed in a field, such as counseling, family therapy, psychology, social work, or nutrition. In addition, all counseling staff members have many years of experience working in a wide variety of clinical settings.

| Ingrid Kraus krausiw@appstate.edu Ingrid Kraus is Director of Counseling for Faculty and Staff at Appalachian State University. She is a licensed psychologist in North Carolina. She has a Ph.D. and M.A. in psychology from Georgia State University and a B.A. from Swarthmore College. She has worked for over 20 years as a psychotherapist in independent practice and as a psychologist in mental health. Special interests include depression, transitions, survivors of trauma, couples' concerns, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. |

| Julie Reed Neal Julie Neal, M.A., is licensed in North Carolina as a Psychological Associate. She completed her B.A. and M.A. degrees in Psychology at Appalachian State University. Ms. Neal has practiced in this community since 1991, at the community mental health center, in private practice, and evaluating children through the neighboring school systems. Her areas of interest include children's issues, adolescent issues, parenting concerns and women's issues ranging from depression to abuse. | ![]() |
